My name is Milorad (“Milo”) Cavic and before I got into the industry of helping professionals protect their financial futures, I was a 4-time Olympian, a world champion, and world record holder in swimming.
As the economy fell in 2000, and then again in 2008, many American families filed for bankruptcy and foreclosed on their homes, including my own. As a professional athlete, I was a provider for my immediate and extended family, and many relied on my support. This was fine because I was doing fantastic financially and was never healthier… Then, one morning I suddenly couldn’t physically get out of bed! Forced into surgery, the future of my career was uncertain. I wondered: How was my family going to get by? What was to happen with my properties and the mortgages on them?
What would I do if I couldn’t physically work again to my full capability? Who would teach my kids to swim?
There were many factors and questions needing attention, and very little on which to fall back. I was incredibly vulnerable because for the first time in my life, I was without a plan! To get me back in the water and racing with the best again, it took a team of people working together, each member specializing in their own fields to tailor a program which fit well together. It was an eye opening journey what we were able to achieve when working together – a mission which would have been impossible for any man to accomplish alone!
Today, I work with a team of professionals in the financial services industry and do just that. I want to help people avoid the pitfalls that I myself and my family went through during economic uncertainty and disability, by having a plan for anything that life throws at us.
At WestPac Wealth Partners, my new purpose in life is helping my clients achieve their financial goals by strategically planning to protect their wealth, income and, most importantly, their families.
